Kelly Osbourne has sparked a fresh wave of speculation after posting a series of emotional messages about accountability, protecting her son and wanting to be left alone — just days after her former fiancé, Sid Wilson, was reportedly removed from Slipknot.
The timing immediately caught fans’ attention.
Wilson, 49, has been part of the masked metal band for nearly three decades, while his relationship with Kelly connected two of rock music’s most famous families. But after months of reports surrounding the end of their engagement, both his personal and professional lives have suddenly become the subject of intense scrutiny.
Now Kelly, 41, appears determined to move forward.
“I’m done,” she wrote in one of several Instagram Stories shared on August 3, before adding that she wants “to be happy.”
She never identified Wilson by name in those particular messages.
But some of what followed was considerably harder for fans to ignore.
Kelly Osbourne’s message quickly turns personal
Osbourne’s posts initially centered on responsibility and what happens when people refuse to acknowledge their own behavior.
She shared a message about guilt, distraction and “karma,” while emphasizing the importance she places on taking accountability for her own actions.
Then the focus shifted to the most important person in her life: her young son, Sidney.
Kelly and Wilson welcomed Sidney in November 2022. The former couple had been romantically involved since early 2022, although they had known each other for many years before becoming a couple.
In another post, Kelly made it clear that protecting her child was now her priority.
She later wrote that she could no longer protect an unnamed person “from yourself,” adding that she wanted space to heal and raise her son.
But her final message was even more pointed.
Kelly asked for her dogs and possessions to be returned before adding: “maybe some child support?”
The remark immediately intensified speculation that the posts were directed toward Wilson.
Wilson has not publicly responded to those statements.
Kelly and Sid’s engagement ended after emotional year
Kelly and Wilson’s relationship had once appeared to be heading toward marriage.
The two reportedly first met more than two decades ago through Ozzfest, the music festival founded by Kelly’s parents, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne. Their friendship eventually became romantic in January 2022.
Then came an unforgettable family moment.
On July 5, 2025, as Ozzy Osbourne prepared for his final Black Sabbath performance at Villa Park in Birmingham, England, Wilson proposed to Kelly backstage in front of members of her family and friends.
Ozzy jokingly interrupted the proposal before Wilson continued and asked Kelly to marry him. She said yes.
At the time, it appeared to be an extraordinarily happy ending to an already emotional day for the Osbourne family.
But just over two weeks later, everything changed.
Ozzy Osbourne died on July 22, 2025, at the age of 76. His death devastated his family, and Kelly has spoken publicly about how deeply she has struggled with losing her father.
Behind the scenes, her relationship with Wilson was also reportedly under increasing pressure.
By March 2026, reports emerged that Kelly and Wilson had separated and put an end to their engagement after more than four years together. Sources at the time described the relationship as having experienced a difficult period, although there were initially suggestions that reconciliation might still be possible.
More recent reporting indicates the engagement is over, with a source telling PEOPLE that Kelly is focused on her son, her mother Sharon and living without additional drama.
Then came the bombshell Slipknot report
As speculation about Kelly and Wilson’s relationship continued, another major story emerged.
On July 31, TMZ reportedly learned that Wilson had been permanently removed from Slipknot.
Wilson joined the influential metal group in 1998 and became instantly recognizable to fans as the band’s DJ and turntablist, performing under the number “0.” He has been a fixture of Slipknot’s chaotic live performances and signature sound for nearly 30 years.
But there is one important detail:
Slipknot has not officially announced that Wilson has been fired.
Wilson himself has also not publicly confirmed that he is out of the group.
That distinction became even more significant when Slipknot guitarist Jim Root responded to the growing reports with a mysterious statement of his own.
“Don’t believe everything you read,” Root wrote, urging fans to wait until more information became available.
His message did not explicitly say that reports of Wilson’s departure were false.
Instead, it left Slipknot fans with even more questions.
Why was Sid Wilson reportedly removed from Slipknot?
As of August 7, there has still been no official statement from Slipknot explaining Wilson’s status or giving a confirmed reason for his reported departure.
Some subsequent reports have cited unnamed sources alleging internal tensions involving Wilson, but without an official statement from the band or the musician, those claims should be treated as unconfirmed.
For now, what is known is that the original report claimed Wilson had been told he was permanently out of the group, while Root’s public reaction suggested fans may not yet have the complete story.
That uncertainty has helped fuel intense debate among Slipknot’s fanbase.
Wilson is one of the band’s longest-serving members, joining during Slipknot’s rise before the release of their self-titled major-label debut in 1999.
His departure would therefore represent another major lineup change for a group that has already experienced several significant personnel changes over the years.
Kelly’s posts came just days later
Then, only days after the Slipknot story broke, Kelly posted her emotional messages.
There is no confirmed evidence establishing that her posts were directly triggered by Wilson’s reported band situation.
Kelly did not mention Slipknot.
She did not name Wilson.
But the combination of her comments about accountability, protecting Sidney, wanting her possessions returned and asking about child support quickly led fans and entertainment outlets to connect the posts with her former fiancé.
The timing made the story particularly striking.
Within a matter of months, Wilson had gone from proposing to Kelly at one of the most significant concerts in rock history to facing reports of both a broken engagement and the possible end of his nearly three-decade career with Slipknot.
Kelly has endured an extraordinarily difficult year
Lost amid much of the speculation is just how difficult the past year has been for Kelly Osbourne.
Her father’s death came shortly after what should have been one of the happiest moments of her life.
Ozzy’s final performance had brought the Osbourne family together in Birmingham, and Wilson’s proposal took place backstage that same night.
Then came grief.
Kelly has repeatedly made clear that the loss of her father continues to affect her deeply. She has also been spending significant time supporting her mother, Sharon. Sources have previously said those family responsibilities became a major priority for her as difficulties developed in her relationship.
Through all of it, Kelly’s public statements have increasingly centered on motherhood.
Her latest posts appear to reinforce that point.
Whatever ultimately emerges about Wilson’s relationship with Slipknot — and whatever happened privately between the former couple — Kelly seems to be drawing a firm line around herself and her son.
Fans are now waiting for two answers
There are now two major questions hanging over the story.
The first is whether Sid Wilson is officially out of Slipknot after 28 years.
Despite multiple reports saying he has been removed, neither Wilson nor the band has issued a definitive public announcement, while Jim Root’s response has encouraged fans not to rush to conclusions.
The second concerns Kelly and Sid themselves.
Their engagement is reportedly over, and Kelly’s latest posts suggest that tensions remain unresolved.
Her request for belongings, dogs and child support was perhaps the clearest sign yet that the relationship that once culminated in a backstage proposal in front of Ozzy Osbourne has entered a very different chapter.
For Kelly, however, one message appears unmistakable.
After a year filled with extraordinary highs followed by profound loss and personal upheaval, she says she wants peace.
And above everything else, she wants to protect her son.
