Barron Trump opens up on relationship with his father

It’s fair to say Barron Trump has lived a unique life. As the son of Donald and Melania Trump, the now 20-year-old has lived at Trump Tower and the White House, as well as the luxurious Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida. Now, he is back in Washington, where he attends Stern Business School, and is receiving a lot of support from his mother.

Donald Trump praised his son after his 2024 presidential election win, and again in his Inauguration Day speech. Barron also received a lot of love online for his greeting and handling of conversations with the Washington elite, but even so, not much is known about his relationship with his father.

Donald has spoken about his son several times, but Barron has yet to participate in any press interviews. Now, the hosts of a podcast who were invited to dine with Barron at Mar-a-Lago have revealed what he thinks is annoying about his father.

The youngest son of Donald Trump has been kept outside the spotlight his entire life. Melania has ensured that her son is protected against scrutiny. Now that he has enrolled at college, it’s safe to assume he will be seen more in public.

As mentioned, Barron was among the Washington elite at the inauguration. He interacted with many of them, but one interaction in particular spread like wildfire: the one between Barron and Joe Biden.

Barron Trump

Biden smiled upon encountering Barron, but after they exchanged a few words, the former president’s happy expression turned more solemn. Social media users worldwide were dying to know what the president’s son had said. Moreover, Barron was praised online for greeting both Biden and Kamala Harris.

“I was very impressed by that gesture and from someone so young. To go across the aisle and shake their hands was a very classy and mature thing to do. Good for Barron,” one person wrote.

Another added: “Such a good young man… That gesture just tells you everything. Well done, Melania.”

One person joked: “Looks like he said, ‘You’re done.’”

Speaking with the Daily Mail, body language expert and communications coach Judi James had another theory. She explained that Barron “very confidently” and “charmingly” bent to shake hands with Biden.

“And although Biden’s face seems to fall as though Barron has passed on some kind of sinister threat or message, the truth was less dramatic as Barron seemed to be leaning to greet Kamala and Biden’s face was registering the fact that he’d finished his greeting ritual with Trump’s son.”

“He stood like a rock star”

She added that Barron’s humor and so-labeled “super-confidence” have led people to misread what Donald’s son really could’ve said to Biden.

“When he was introduced by his father, he stood like a rock star acknowledging the cheers and chants of his name and even cupped his ear to increase them. Which is probably why people might assume (wrongly I’d say) that he’s possibly making barbed comments on his way out here,” James continued.

Moreover, James explained that Barron was “working as a sweeper” during the inauguration, a role he frequently takes on when appearing with his father at any event.

“This means he tends to arrive and leave behind his parents, but instead of just walking off behind them as he did when he was younger, he spends time shaking hands and offering gracious-looking words,” James continued, concluding by saying that “defines” Barron’s presence and status without having to compete with his father.

“He lets everyone know that he is becoming a force to be reckoned with in his own right and because of his height and the increase in his confidence signals, it gives him a rather princely air, presence-wise. Biden had been on the receiving end of a flame-thrower speech from Trump, where he had sat in a variety of poses including pained deflation and bravado smiling as his entire four years in office were scorched to ashes.”

Donald Trump’s relationship with Barron

Barron Trump’s life has been an extraordinary one, not only because of his family’s eye-watering wealth, but foremost because his father became not only a real estate mogul in New York but also the President of the United States.

His mother has done everything she can to protect her son since he was born. However, in reality, the world knew about his birth only 20(!) minutes after he was welcomed into this world.

As reported by several newspapers, within 20 minutes of Barron’s birth, Donald called MSNBC’s long-running radio show, Imus in the Morning, hosted by Don Imus, to share the great news.

“Everyone’s perfect,” Donald, then 59, told Imus. “I continue to stay young, right? I produce children, I stay young.”

Growing up, it was Melania who was closest to Barron. Donald naturally worked a lot, and he explained in an interview with Larry King in 2005 that he was a reasonably hands-off parent. He said he was “not going to be doing the diapers” and might “never even see the kids.”

All the same, Barron loved spending time with his dad. As Barron grew up, Melania ensured he had quality time with his father, and the two often went out for dinner together. As he grew older, Barron joined his father on the golf course.

“It’s very important to know the person you’re with. And we know our roles,” Melania explained.

Barron Trump’s crucial role in winning the presidential election

Exactly how involved Barron’s father was in his childhood is unclear. But in the presidential election last year, Donald’s youngest son had a crucial role in winning.

In his speech to his supporters on Inauguration Day, Donald praised his son for helping him win the election. The president asked the crowd if they had heard of his “tall son,” to which they responded with loud cheers.

“He knew the youth vote. You know we won the youth vote by 36 points,” Trump said. “He was saying, ’dad, I got to go out and to this and that one and we did a lot of them. He respects them all, he understood it very well. He said ’dad, you got to go out and do Joe Rogan, all these guys that we did. They were all great, right? Barron, they were all great.”

Donald, Melania, and Barron all lived at Mar-a-Lago when the Trump left the White House in 2021. It is unknown if Donald helped his son with homework over the years, but in 2019, a sad report suggested that the president was actually jealous of his son because of his height.

In his book, Siege: Trump Under Fire, author Michael Wolff claimed that Trump had a strained relationship with Barron and was resentful of his height.

Wolff alleged that Donald was so insecure about Barron being taller than him that he refused to be photographed with his son. Moreover, when appearing on The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell, Wolff claimed Donald is jealous of everyone’s height.

“He never lets himself be in a photograph with someone taller than he is. Height is one of his techniques. He uses his height — and, remember, Donald Trump is a very large man,” Wolff said.

Barron Trump opens up on his father

Today, it appears that Donald and Barron’s relationship is much better. Barron helped his father win the presidential election, and some supporters even want to see the 20-year-old go on to become president himself.

To date, Barron has made no public statements or given any interviews. A while ago, though, some details about his relationship with Donald have been revealed.

On the Valuetainment podcast – a current affairs podcast that has had many prominent guests, such as Kobe Bryant — hosts Patrick Bet-David, Adam Sosnick, Tom Ellsworth, Vincent Oshana, and FOX News’ Jesse Watters revealed some fascinating details about Barron’s private life. Also, according to the podcast, he revealed what irritates him about his father.

The hosts of Valuetainment were invited to a dinner at Mar-a-Lago last year, where they talked to Barron. During dinner, music suddenly blasted throughout the estate.

“[We were in the middle of talking] and all of a sudden music comes on so loud. We asked what it was and Barron said, ‘my dad’s the freakin’ DJ [in this house],’” one of the hosts said, as reported by the Irish Star.

“All you see is the president on his iPad, the lights on his face… Barron’s like, ‘I’ll be in my room and the house is shaking. My dad plays the music so loud.’”

“He’s a professional”

Another host on the podcast stated that Barron struggled to keep his cool. Meanwhile, they praised the president’s son as a great host.

“Barron has a good head on his shoulder,” they said. “He’s a professional. At the end [of the dinner] he was like, ‘Vinny, whenever you guys want to come for dinner, hit me up’. It was amazing.”
